East Kotawaringin Municipality - Mentaya River
Based on the observation of Sampit harbor and its terrace (Hiterland) recently it showed potentially expanding growth in the farming industry and mining industry.
Unfortunately, the shipping channel to accelerate the goods distribution is less supported, especially around the waterway. As the condition of the channel is not broad enough, the size of ship to distribute commodities to terminal-terminal in Mentaya river will be limited.
Based on that situation mentioned, PT KSS and ABUPI Coordinator of Central Kalimantan advocate to conduct a study about eligibility measurement and shipping management of Mentaya river’s harbor. That study will investigate how to distribute commodities economically in order to cultivate the growth of the farming and mining industry enclosed Mentaya river.
